Jumping into European comics, especially Sci-Fi and Western ones was a new approach for as I have never taken the time to look into it. Also, my mind never called to reading any Sci-Fi whatsoever so this was initially my first time reading anything in that genre. The first graphic comic I looked into was "The Incal", without a doubt was this an interesting read for me, although I didn't read all thirteen volumes of this series I definitely enjoyed the storyline, progression of characters, and the overall art done by the talented Moebius through the first four parts. Hey by the time I'm done with this semester I might even catch up on all of them just to see where John finds himself up.
The Metal Hurlant definitely had an interesting approach to introducing various stories in sections. Even if everything was in French, the artwork itself with there scenes of odd-looking characters, and visually interesting colors kept me wanting to see what happened on the next page. Now it definitely wasn't beautifully appealing most of the time for me but it was weirdly interesting enough to get my attention and read the first series twice.
